These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Notebin at notebin.net (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Notebin is a "pastebin for Markdown": you write or paste Markdown, create a shareable link, and others can read a rendered version. Notes may be created anonymously or while signed in.
2. Accounts & tiers
- Sign-in is provided via Google. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- New accounts start on the free tier. A Pro tier may be granted by an administrator.
- You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, store, or share content that:
- is illegal, infringes intellectual property, or violates others' rights or privacy;
- contains malware, phishing, or links intended to harm or deceive;
- is spam, or is used for bulk/automated abuse;
- harasses, threatens, or promotes hate or violence; or contains child sexual abuse material;
- attempts to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
You must respect rate limits and not circumvent technical restrictions.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, rendering and serving your note to people you share the link with). You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to share it.
5. Content moderation & removal
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law, with or without notice. To report infringing or abusive content, use the contact options provided on notebin.net.
6. Availability & retention
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. It is not a backup service. Anonymous notes expire after 30 days, and we may delete content as described in our Privacy Policy. Keep your own copies of anything important.
7. API & tokens
If you use the API, keep your access tokens secret; you are responsible for requests made with them. We may rate-limit, throttle, or revoke access to protect the Service.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Notebin and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Notebin and its operator from claims arising out of your content or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to comply with law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; we will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, take additional steps where required by law. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
14. Contact
For questions about these Terms, please use the contact options provided on notebin.net.
